		The white spot shows where the carpenter bee entered into the 2 x 4, then the top of the wood shows where the carpenter bee turned 90 degrees sideways, drilled out the length of the lumber and layed her eggs. Woodpeckers tore up the lumber to eat the carpenter bee larvae.

Carpenter Bee Kit Instructions

Each carpenter bee kit will contain the following iterms:

One pound of drione dust
One hand duster
One dust mask
4 ounces of cypermethrin concentrate, either Viper or Cyper 8

Fill the duster about 2/3 full with drione dust. Put on your dust mask so you don't sneeze from the drione powder. Turn the duster upside down (This keeps the dust from clogging the nozzle). Put liberal amounts of dust into each carpenter bee hole. Use the plastic extension for hard to get to places. Each pound of Drione dust should treat 50-70 holes.

Spray all the wood you do not want carpenter bees drilling with a good solution of cypermethrin. Use one ounce of cypermethrin per gallon of water. Each gallon should cover about 500 square feet of wood. Spray twice during the spring about 3 weeks apart. This cypermethrin solution will act as a repellent for future carpenter bee activity. You can spray anytime after the plugging of the holes has been done.

Cypermethrin is also a very useful insecticide for spraying ants, spiders, big roaches, etc.
